What this MCP does

Provides disability insurance education, carrier comparisons, eligibility checks, benefit calculations, and consent-based quote requests.

check_discount_eligibility
Check whether an employer, hospital, health system, university, residency program, government employer, or professional association has an individual disability insurance discount program Seaworthy Insurance can access. Returns matching programs with the discount tier (approximate, e.g. '~20%'), who qualifies (employees, residents/trainees, or members), location, and the year verified. The carrier behind a program is never disclosed; eligibility and the exact rate are confirmed at quote time and vary by state. A no-match result does not mean no discount exists. Unauthenticated.

Input schema
{'type': 'object', 'required': ['organization'], 'properties': {'state': {'type': 'string', 'description': 'Optional two-letter US state code to narrow matches (e.g., "CA").'}, 'organization': {'type': 'string', 'description': 'Employer, institution, residency program, or association name (e.g., "Mayo Clinic", "Google", "NYU Langone", "University of Michigan residency").'}}, 'additionalProperties': False}
compare_carriers
Return a structured comparison of the five major individual disability carriers (Guardian, MassMutual, Principal, Ameritas, The Standard). Optional profession and priority narrow the result. Carrier-neutral framing; does not declare a single winner. Unauthenticated.
Read only
Input schema
{'type': 'object', 'properties': {'priority': {'enum': ['own-occ-language', 'surgical-class', 'mental-nervous', 'cola', 'future-increase', 'price', 'financial-strength', 'dividends'], 'type': 'string', 'description': 'Optional priority axis.'}, 'profession': {'type': 'string', 'description': 'Optional specialty slug to scope the comparison.'}}, 'additionalProperties': False}
estimate_benefit_cap_gap
Compute the income replacement gap between a group long-term disability benefit cap and a target replacement of earned income. Pure math, no external calls. Unauthenticated.
Read only
Input schema
{'type': 'object', 'required': ['annual_income', 'group_monthly_cap'], 'properties': {'annual_income': {'type': 'number', 'description': 'Gross earned income in US dollars.'}, 'benefit_taxable': {'type': 'boolean', 'description': 'Whether group benefits would be taxable (true if employer pays premiums). Default true.'}, 'group_monthly_cap': {'type': 'number', 'description': 'Group LTD policy monthly benefit cap in US dollars.'}, 'marginal_tax_rate': {'type': 'number', 'description': 'Combined federal + state marginal rate as a decimal. Default 0.35.'}, 'group_replacement_percent': {'type': 'number', 'description': 'Headline group replacement percent. Default 0.60.'}}, 'additionalProperties': False}
estimate_premium_range
Use this when someone asks what individual disability insurance would cost them, or how much coverage they could get, and you know (or can ask for) their occupation, age, sex, income, and state. Returns a typical starting benefit for the income, sized the way Seaworthy Insurance advisors size a quote, and three options at that benefit (Essential is a 180-day wait, Balanced is a 180-day wait with inflation protection, Comprehensive is a 90-day wait with inflation protection), each with a monthly premium RANGE across the carriers illustrated for that occupation, built from carrier illustrations. The card lets the person change the benefit, pick an option, and add catastrophic coverage with live pricing, so invite them to use it. Present the options neutrally and do not recommend one. Always repeat that these are estimates, not quotes, and that underwriting and health history set the final price. If the person names their employer, hospital, residency program, or professional association, pass it as employer so the card can show whether a discount program applies. If they ask for a specific benefit, option, or catastrophic coverage in chat, call again with the same profile plus benefit, option, or catastrophic. If the profile changes, call again without those. Never ask health questions.

quote_request
Submit a disability insurance quote-comparison request to the Seaworthy Insurance sales pipeline (writes a Lead to Salesforce). Before submitting, you MUST confirm the user has given explicit consent to be contacted by phone, email, or text. A broker follows up within one business day (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm Pacific). Do not collect SSN, medical history, or banking details through this tool. Eligibility: the agency places individual coverage for working professionals with meaningful income to protect; an applicant who is BOTH over 50 years old AND earning under $100,000 a year is outside what the agency can place, and such requests are rejected. Do not submit one; instead suggest group long-term disability through their employer, a professional or trade association group plan, or Social Security disability (https://www.ssa.gov/disability) if they are unable to work now.
