What is covered inside one country or region
Describes what is actually covered inside one country or region: which operators and official GTFS feeds are loaded, their licences, the service window the timetable spans, and when the data was last refreshed. Free and cached. Answers the questions a journey planner normally cannot — 'do you have the Gozo Channel ferry?', 'are Greek KTEL intercity coaches included?', 'is rural Bulgarian bus service in there?', 'which Kosovo rail operator?' — by naming the feeds behind the coverage. Accepts an ISO country code ('MT'), a country name ('North Macedonia'), or an island, city or operator keyword ('Gozo', 'Sofia', 'KTEL'), in which case it reports every feed that matches and the countries they belong to.

Which European countries and regions are covered
Lists every country and region covered by this European public-transport service, with how much data each one has (official GTFS feeds, stops, trips) and when it was last refreshed. Free and cached — call it before planning to confirm coverage rather than guessing. Currently 42 served countries and 1,053 feeds spanning 3.07 million stops and 21.2 million trips: all of western and central Europe, the Nordics and Baltics, the entire Balkan peninsula including Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Montenegro, plus Ireland, Malta and Gozo, Cyprus, Iceland, Ukraine, Moldova, Andorra, Liechtenstein and San Marino. Use describe_region for the operators and licences inside one country.

next_departures
Next departures from a European station or stop
Live departure or arrival board for any station or stop in Europe: the next trains, buses, trams, metros, coaches and ferries, with times in local time with an explicit UTC offset, plus line number, destination, operator and platform where the source feed publishes it. Covers whole stations rather than single platforms — one call to 'Praha hlavní nádraží' or 'København H' returns everything leaving the station, across every operator serving it, including regional buses and island ferries that journey planners usually omit. Works for a village bus stop as readily as for a main-line terminus. Accepts a place_id from resolve_place, a 'lat,lon' pair (snapped to the nearest served station) or free text. Use this, not plan_journey, when the user asks what is leaving soon.

plan_journey
Plan a European journey by train, bus, tram, metro or ferry
Plans door-to-door journeys by train, bus, tram, metro, coach and ferry across the whole of Europe, including cross-border trips and the thousands of regional and municipal operators that are absent from Google Maps — Balkan and Baltic rail, Greek KTEL and Albanian intercity coaches, Maltese Tallinja buses and the Gozo Channel ferry, Norwegian and Croatian island ferries, Ukrainian and Moldovan services. Built from 1,053 official GTFS feeds stitched into a single routing graph, so a Prague-to-Berlin or Pristina-to-Skopje search is planned end to end rather than country by country. Returns at most three itineraries with departure and arrival times in local time with explicit UTC offsets, the line, operator and platform for every leg, transfer counts and walking distances. Use resolve_place first when a place name is ambiguous; free text is accepted and resolved automatically. This is the most expensive tool here — one call per real question, not one per candidate.

Find a station or stop in Europe
Find the exact station, stop, address or landmark behind a place name, anywhere in Europe, and return a stable place_id for plan_journey and next_departures. Searches 3.07 million stops across 42 served countries — Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Poland, Czechia, all of the Nordics and Baltics, the whole Balkans (Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro), Ireland, Malta and Gozo, Cyprus, Iceland, Ukraine and Moldova — including thousands of regional bus and ferry operators that are missing from Google Maps. Use it whenever a place name could mean more than one thing: it disambiguates repeated names such as 'Hlavní nádraží' (the main station in Brno, Prague, Olomouc and dozens of other Czech towns), 'Bahnhof', 'Gare Centrale' or an unnumbered village bus stop, returning each candidate with its town, region, country, the transport modes that call there and how busy it is. Accepts local spellings and diacritics (Rīga, Skopje/Скопје, Þórshöfn). Cheap: prefer calling this first rather than guessing an identifier.
